Brigadeiro is a traditional Brazilian sweet made from condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, and chocolate sprinkles. It's a simple yet delicious treat often served at parties. Here’s a classic recipe for making Brigadeiros:
Ingredients:
1 can (395g) sweetened condensed milk
4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
A pinch of salt (optional, to balance sweetness)
Chocolate sprinkles or any decoration (for rolling)

Instructions:
Prepare the Pan:
Choose a non-stick saucepan. Combine the sweetened condensed milk, cocoa powder, butter, and a pinch of salt (optional) in the pan.
Cook the Mixture:
Place the pan over medium heat. Stir continuously with a spoon, to avoid burning. As the mixture heats, it will start to thicken.
Continue stirring for 8-10 minutes until it reaches a fudgy consistency. You'll know it's done when you can drag the spoon through the mixture and it holds its shape (it should look like a thick, smooth fudge).
Cool the Mixture:
Remove the pan from the heat once it has thickened. Let the mixture cool for a few minutes until it's safe to handle.
Shape the Brigadeiros:
Lightly butter your hands (this will prevent the mixture from sticking to your skin). Scoop up small amounts of the mixture (about 1 tablespoon each) and roll them into balls.
Coat with Sprinkles:
Roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles until fully coated. You can also use colored sprinkles, shredded coconut, or other toppings if you prefer.

Serve:
Place the Brigadeiros on a tray lined with parchment paper and let them set for about 30 minutes, or until firm enough to hold their shape.
Tips:
If you want to make variations, you can add a little bit of vanilla extract, or even use white chocolate for a different flavor profile.
Brigadeiros can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for about a week.
Enjoy your Brigadeiros! They're a perfect bite-sized treat for any occasion.
